Newsletter Week 7 Term 4
Meeanee School 30th November, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE SWIVELLY CHAIR
We are getting a lot of queries at the moment from out of zone families about Meeanee School. I need to reiterate that currently we are full and can only accept in zone enrolments. Mrs M will be having school visits in the last week of term for some of our new 5 year olds who will be starting at the beginning of the year.
I think it is a good time to thank Mrs Anne McGregor for all of her hard work and sacrifice this year. Some of you may know that in just the second week of school this year we had a change of circumstance with staffing. I asked Anne very nicely if she could help us out by spending 8 weeks in Room 2 (Kiwi). As circumstances continued to change this has meant that Anne will see out the year working 3 days a week. We really appreciate everything you have done for us Anne and the growth in your students has been fantastic. This is not goodbye for Anne though as she will be back as a release and specialist teacher next year, one day a week.
In 2023 our staffing will remain stable (fingers crossed!).
Office Administrator - Alison Smith
Teacher Aides - Cathy Kyle and Sue Lewis
Property Supervisor - Fletcher Smith
Room 1 (Pukeko) - Danielle Norman - Year 0/1
Room 2 (Kiwi) - Bronwyn Donnison - Year 1/2
Room 3 (Tui) - Jo Sciascia - Year 3/4
Room 4 (Moananui) - Simon Evans - Year 5/6
Room 6 (Papakura) - Kelly McKay - Year 7/8
Release teachers - Anne McGregor and Damion Kinsey
I'm also very excited to announce that we will have 28 Year 7/8 students next year. When I first arrived in 2020 it was a goal of ours to retain our Year 7/8's. I would like to thank all of the hard work from our staff and community that has made this come to fruition.
Thank you also for those families who responded to our survey. The results were very affirming but also gave us some work ons. I will draw out a family to receive a $50 grocery voucher for completing the survey (apparently I also owe another family one from last year!).
Be Kind, Stay Safe,
Damion
PB4L Weekly Goal
Our School Values are very important to us here at Meeanee School. We believe in showing Respect, Excellence, Empathy, and Perseverance. While our students are in school or sports uniform we encourage the display of these values.
Now we need to continue with getting our uniform picked up and put away too!

The pool is now run by a saltwater chlorination system and a UV filter so it is looking amazing! The interior of the pool was also painted. Another big thanks to the support of Taylor's Pool Service who have been amazing.
Local Employment Opportunities
The NZ Census is undertaken every 5 years, the next being in 2023. If you would like to for approximately 7 weeks part or fulltime once the children have headed back to school in February, consider a Field Collector position. I have been allocated the Nelson Park/ Meeanee/ Clive area. If you live, or would like to work in this area, please contact me for further details.
