A large number of Year 7 - 10 pupils will be competing in a total of 46 athletics events, with the House Sports Day cup at stake. The first event starts at 3.15pm with the final event taking place at 5.20pm. All parents will be most welcome to attend.

BBQ Helpers
The Claires Court Senior Boys PTA are looking for helpers to assist with the serving of the BBQ at this year’s summer fete, the BBQ runs from 12 noon-4pm and ideally we will have 6 people working at any one time. It would be great if we had enough volunteers to rotate the BBQ team every hour. If you are able to volunteer your help please contact me by email at c.e.webster@btinternet.com or telephone 07990 973354.
FROM THE HEAD'S DESK
It is very strange how things change, at 14 .45 on Thursday people were avoiding me, however approximately 46 minutes later everybody was looking to hold a conversation (what a difference two goals make).
Healthy eating week has proved a great success, well done to Rupert Miller who won the healthiest diet on Monday, I'm sure he will enjoy his prize, however the Vegan curry and yoghurt with nut free muesli were not great favourites for the boys.
Your son should bring home his grade card today well done to most and we will be arranging meetings where we feel there is a difficulty.
I hope to see as many as possible at the Fete on the 25, a great event has been planned and we hope the weather will be kind.
A quick mention of the Old Boys Cricket Match next Friday all are welcome to support. I will be cheering the First Eight on at the Qualifying event for Henley Royal Regatta.
Finally a quote from Jo Cox, who was MP for Batley and Spen.
"Our communities have been deeply enhanced by immigration, be it of Irish Catholics across the constituency or of Muslims from Gujarat in India or from Pakistan, principally from Kashmir. While we celebrate our diversity, what surprises me time and time again as I travel around the constituency is that we are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us."

PTA - Summer Fete
Summer Fete on Saturday 25 June
This year the theme of our fete is 'The Great Outdoors', a theme inspired by the allotment and bushcraft projects the PTA have recently supported.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to take a stall at this year’s event please contact me at emmarobertson@hotmail.co.uk. We are also looking for a number of raffle prizes. If you are able to contribute something please contact me at the same address.
If you pay online then please remember to send in your prize draw entry to the school office and it also assists us with how many tickets you require. Please click here for the ticket order form.
Special Attraction at the Summer Fete
On Saturday 25 June, as part of our celebration of the great outdoors, we are being visited by the Great Gun Dog Company and their wonderful dogs.
They will be giving demonstrations on how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils (aged 3 to 12) who wish to learn how to 'work' the dogs are then invited to practice the commands that they see in the demonstration.
After the event, two or three children will be selected and given certificates as finalists and will have the opportunity to progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the Midland Game Fair on the17th September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. More information
There is also an opportunity for pupils to take part in a poster competition. All they have to do is download the template– get creative and draw their dream playground and bring the final poster to the fete. The best winning entry for the poster design will win a £20 Amazon voucher.
