STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL & DELAYED DISMISSAL INFORMATION
At Bishop, our staff have been trained in our Standard Response Protocols (SRP). Students have also been learning about our safety procedures for our school and classrooms. This week, we held our first evacuation and everyone did an amazing job! We encourage you to also review our Standard Response Protocols pictured above to understand more about our safety protocols.
We have also developed a delayed dismissal system in case of severe weather at dismissal. The following message will be sent to all families through email, phone, and text if we need to hold students. Please know that we may have to make a call very close to dismissal due to our quickly changing Colorado weather. Thank you for understanding.
Delayed Dismissal
If there is lightning or hazardous conditions outside, a delayed dismissal will be called. An email will be sent to all families regarding the following procedure:
Bus Riders: They will report to the library with classroom teacher or para and bus supervisors will monitor students. Once transportation approves departure, students will be escorted out to the bus.
Walkers/Car Lane: Students will report to the gym with classroom teacher or para and line up by grade level. (Same as outside). All car lane supervisors will bring students out to vehicles in car lane as cars arrive. Please be patient as this will take longer than our “normal” dismissal.
Parent/Guardian Pick Up: Parents/Guardians who would like to enter the school, will check in with our front office and provide a current driver’s license for approval. You will receive a Student Pick Up Ticket and then you may proceed to the gym and check out your child with a supervisor.NEWS FROM THE DISTRICT
