HEALTH AND SAFETY

This video provides a good explanation of what's happening worldwide with coronavirus and can be a springboard for a discussion with your child.

Please reassure your child to take the same precautions they would for keeping their bodies healthy and safe including:

  • wash hands regularly for at least 20 seconds (students can sing the alphabet in their heads to reach about 20 seconds)
  • sneezing/coughing into their elbow or sleeve
  • wash hands after coughing or sneezing
  • wash hands before eating
  • wash hands after being in a public place
  • do not share personal items such as food, drinks, or utensils
  • stay home if you are sick

Fundraiser Success - CHOP

Congratulations to our PVS Explorers for a successful fundraising project. The Student Council sponsored a project to benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Over $1300 was raised and donated to CHOP. Thank you to everyone who participated in this service project.

THANK YOU!

We wish to express our gratitude and thanks to the community for supporting our service project for Nico's Power Packs. Our combined district staff were able to make 100 packs to be distributed through this charity. Thank you!

ROCK YOUR SOCKS ON MARCH 20TH

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is marked each year on March 21, beginning in 2006. The 21st day of March (the 3rd month of the year) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. Since March 21st is a Saturday, PVS will be Rockin' Our Socks on Friday, March 20th!

Harrison Township Schools will be joining other schools and organizations around the world in celebrating WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY.

Together we will create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome in our schools, community and around the world.
