Souper Bowl of Caring

Mrs. Stamm's Trimester 1 sixth graders made and donated 12 ceramic bowls to Opportunity House’s Souper Bowl of Caring. This event raises money for the Opportunity House in Reading, whose mission is to empower people to improve their lives, and assists homeless people and those facing hard times.

Souper Bowl is an annual event where local restaurants create a soup and attendees purchase one of the hand made bowls and get to try up to 30 different soups. Voting takes place at the end of the tasting and one restaurant gets the bragging rights as this year’s Best Soup.

Notes form the Nurse

Please see our monthly tips from our West nurse. It has come to our attention that there was an inaccurate rumor circulating on social media this week claiming that we are experiencing a lice outbreak at West. That is not true. However, this is the time of year that schools typically experience an increase in incidences of a variety of conditions, including lice. Therefore, some information on lice prevention is included below.

MackinVIA- Free eBooks & Audiobooks for Students!

Just a reminder that MSW is a member of the MackinVIA Connected Library Consortium. This allows our students to access hundreds of eBooks and audiobooks from anywhere they have internet access.

The MackinVIA app can be downloaded on phones and tablets, or you can use the website on any desktop computer/laptop/Chromebook (www.mackinvia.com). Students simply login using their BASD username and password.

An entire new year’s worth of titles were added to MackinVIA last week. This brings us to 1,412 total ebooks and 831 audiobooks.

Email Mrs. Palopoli (spalopoli@boyertownasd.org) if you have any questions.
