Global Warming
Help save the world
Why is global warming such a big issue?
"Global climate change has the potential to wipe out more species, faster, than any other single factor," stated Patty Glick, coordinator of the Climate Change and Wildlife Program at the National Wildlife Federation" ("Climate Change and Global Warming").
What is Global warming?
Greenhouse gases are released from factories and it is building up in the atmosphere. This causes the heat to be trapped in our planet. "The rapid increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries is thought to be the main reason for global warming" ("Climate Change and Global Warming").
The effect on Us
The heat is at it's most extreme during the summer. "Hot atmosphere boost up chemical reactions that results in the formation of ground level ozone which is known as smog" ("Climate Change and Our Ecosystem"). This aggravate the lungs and is the dominant cause of asthma. Hot water allows bacteria to grow rapidly, increasing the chances of people drinking harmful natural water. "A group of researchers in the United States warns that the number of U.S. residents dying of heat stress may double by the year 2075" ("Climate Change and Global Warming").
"Ozone depletion along the weather extreme may make the world a little bit harder place to live in" ("Climate Change and Our Ecosystem").
Nature
Arctic Wildlife
IT all starts with the little things
- Walk to close places to reduce CO2 emission.
- Replace light bulb with LED or fluorescent
- Buy less processed food to also reduce CO2 emission
- Grow a garden to produce more oxygen
