COURSE SELECTION GUIDE WEBSITE
For the past several years, the Course Selection Guide (formerly known as the Program of Study) document has been the main source of updated, annual information about available secondary courses.
This year for the first time it has been created as a website in hopes that this will be easier for students and parents to navigate and access. Click here to visit the website.
STUDENT LEADERS OF TOMORROW (SLOT)
This conference strives to inspire delegates to continue making an impact as they finish their high school experience and enter the next state in their life. The delegates will be able to experience college life by having the opportunity to stay in an on-campus dorm with a current A&M student.

GCISD College Visit Videos
Did you know GCISD counselors have had the privilege of traveling to colleges around the state and nation to visit GCISD alumni and admissions officers in order to get an insider's perspective on the college admissions process?
Click here to view the videos from each of our visits. We will continue to add videos as we make more visits. We hope you enjoy this resource!
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY PSAT SCORES
You can also link your scores with Khan Academy, using your College Board account, to create a personalized study preparation for SAT.
NAVIANCE
This year students will be using Naviance, "a comprehensive college and career readiness solution that helps districts and schools align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life."
Student Login: Network Login (not the whole email address)
Password: panthers (you can change it once you log in)
**If you are unable to log in, please email your counselor.
Students have been asked to complete the following activities during C-Day.
- Naviance Overview video
- Explore the Search for Colleges tool
- Explore the Search for Careers tool
- Explore the Roadtrip Nation videos
- Complete the Strengths Explorer located in About Me → My Assessments → Strengths Explorer. Strengths Explorer is a strengths assessment that assesses 10 talent themes for individuals and identifies each student’s three strongest emerging talents. Upon completion, students will be provided with explanations of their top three themes and will learn how to capitalize on their success and discover what they need to do next to continue building on their strengths.
- Complete the Learning Styles Inventory located in About Me → My Assessments → Learning Styles Inventory. The Learning Styles Inventory assessment allows students to boost academic potential by recognizing their natural learning style, discover better learning strategies, and gain career development skills. The assessment provides students with a report that can be used to increase understanding of the student’s needs at school.
NAVIANCE DID YOU KNOW....
- You can search for colleges by very detailed criteria, such as religious affiliations, minority backgrounds and specific sports
- Naviance isn’t just for seniors? Just like the Go Center, there are grade-appropriate activities and assessments for all high school students.
