Art - Jennifer Ashmore, Art Teacher
In ART class we will continue to learn about and do artwork in the style of a different artist each month. We are finishing up artwork in the style of Georgia O'keeffe. She is most famous for her flower paintings as well as her artwork of animal bones, seashells and southwestern landscapes. We are also using Georgia O'keeffe's artwork to inspire some of our Rodeo Art for the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Art Show that will be in January. We will begin our next artist, Andy Warhol, when we finish up our Rodeo Art projects.

Music - Cristen Dimas, Music Teacher
Let’s make some music! In MUSIC class, Challenger musicians practice and develop rhythmic skills, melodic skills and listening skills in age-appropriate, FUN ways. We make and experience music together using singing voices, instruments, movement, children’s books, and games. And we READ music, using visual representation and music notation. Every time students come to class, we: Sing, Move, Play, Listen (like musicians do), and Create!
In November, we continue to celebrate Fall! Your student may come home singing songs or speaking rhymes about falling leaves or Thanksgiving traditions.
Third graders have been practicing patriotic music to celebrate our country and honor our veterans. They will have a program on November 17th!
I'm thankful every day to make music with the Ride Challengers!
PE - Bridget Hodge, PE Teacher
Thank you for your support during the Ride Reading Adventure. Physical Education uses the provided funds to purchase the equipment that enhances the instruction for a variety of movement skills and abilities.
Several grade levels completed a unit on volleyball striking skills. Ask your student to demonstrate the ready position and the forearm pass. Our older students are currently participating in a football throwing unit while the younger students are learning about fitness. All students will continue to develop their throwing and catching skills this month. In addition, 4th-2nd graders are learning skating skills. Thank you for your support and for the support from PTO!
