Thank you families!
With Thanksgiving next week, please take a moment to thank your child's favorite staff members! Click on the link for our Virtual Gratitude Jar. Notes of Gratitude will be delivered at the end of the week!
Book Fair: November 14th-18th
Help your child make the most of book fair by setting up an E-Wallet. This alleviates them having cash at school, and still gives them the ability to select and pay for their books independently:
Set up an E-Wallet for your child.
Each class has selected one time slot to visit the book fair and make purchases.
We will also have it open to parents afterschool on Tuesday, November 15th and prior to the PTA Association Meeting on Thursday, November 17th.
Don't forget you can also Shop the Book Fair Online!!!!!!!
Counselor Corner
November is Native American Heritage month. This is a chance for each of us to learn more about the history, traditions, challenges, and contributions of the indigenous people of North America.
We spend a lot of time at Tierra Linda talking about how we can respect and celebrate commonalities as well as our differences. Every culture is different; differences are also often found between individuals in the same culture. Your child may be participating in some special lessons to highlight how some Native Americans celebrate their culture.
Ventura County boats a wonderful learning opportunity to visit our local Chumash Museum to view artifacts and exhibits including a Chumash village replica you can walk through to experience some of the Chumash culture first-hand. Here are some additional resources for adult learners from the Library of Congress. Locally, the Ventura County Indian Education Consortium has resources for students, families, and educators.
We Love Volunteers!
We are always looking for people who have time to help in the classrooms, on campus or at PTA events!
To volunteer on campus, please complete the following steps:
- Complete the Volunteer Form and submit to Suzanne Capellini in the office, or your child's teacher
- Complete the COVID Self Attestation Volunteer Form and submit to Suzanne Capellini in the office, or your child's teacher
Thank you for being an active part of our school community!
