Richard Nixon was elected as the 37th president of the United States. After he ended Americans fighting in the Vietnam war he also improved the United States relation between the U.S.S.R. and China. He is the only president that has ever resigned to office as the result of the watergate scandal.

The watergate Scandal was a political scandal that occurred in the united states it was in the 1970's. There was a break-in at the (DNC) headquarters or the Democratic National committee, there were break-ins. Nixon took the time to try and fix this issue but he took steps to cover it. He raised "hush money". In August 1974 after him trying to fix the issues of the watergate he finally came to the light and resigned.
Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for all the crime's or may have committed that he did with the watergate while in office. He was never prosecuted the American politics was changed forever. Which this lead many Americans to question them about their leadership.
