PB4L Weekly Goal

Our School Values are very important to us here at Meeanee School. We believe in showing Respect, Excellence, Empathy, and Perseverance. While our students are in school or sports uniform we encourage the display of these values.

This week students are focusing on putting away their sports equipment at the end of breaktimes. This is a continuation from last week as we still need to improve our efforts.

Stars of the Week

Congratulations to Brooke, Faelen, and Mikayla.

School Concert Evening 2022

As part of our post COVID-19 restrictions plan we are having a school concert evening to welcome our community back into Meeanee School.

Each class will be presenting an item as well as running a stall.

The plan of attack is:

5 to 5.45pm - Adult/Student games on the school field.

5.45pm to 6.15pm - Stalls open.

6.15pm - School Concert begins

We would love you all to come and join us. All students are expected to attend. Feel free to bring your own picnic. No alcohol please. It's a great opportunity for families to mingle.

Life Education Trust

On Monday and Tuesday we were lucky enough to have Anne and Harold from the Life Education Trust come and visit us. We are especially fortunate to have Anne as this is her last time teaching for Life Education Trust after 30 years on the road. On behalf of the Meeanee School Community I would like to wish Anne all the best for her future endeavours.

School Improvement

Last week some of our Papakura students started on the redesign of the wall in the 'Orchard' area of the school.

We visited Resene Colour Shop and thanks to their generosity purchased a blue background colour the same as our classrooms.

Leah, Annabell, and Lilly-Rose mostly painted the wall (a little of paint on themselves too!).

Paige and Kaden had already brainstormed ideas last year as part of a project with Mrs McKay and have taken that idea and furthered it. We are now awaiting a little bit of support on how to get their idea onto the wall! We will keep you up to date.

Below are some pictures of the wall and the first version of Paige and Kaden's new draft.

Local Employment Opportunities

The NZ Census is undertaken every 5 years, the next being in 2023. If you would like to for approximately 7 weeks part or fulltime once the children have headed back to school in February, consider a Field Collector position. I have been allocated the Nelson Park/ Meeanee/ Clive area. If you live, or would like to work in this area, please contact me for further details.
