A Note from the Principal

Hello EXE families,

I am incredibly excited to join EXE as Principal! Throughout the interview process, I fell in love with the community. The teachers, families, administrative team, and School Board showed me what makes our school a special place!

For those of you I haven’t met yet, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I’ve loved learning since I was five in Mrs. Hoffman’s Kindergarten classroom! My passion and purpose have focused on education for nearly 30 years. I have served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, Title I Coordinator, and Assistant Principal. Student growth and achievement have been central to my roles over the years and will continue to be in my new role at Exton Elementary. I look forward to partnering with our teachers, staff, and families to create a positive learning environment for our students that educates and inspires them to achieve their personal best.

On a personal note, I live in the Kennett Square area with my husband. We have three daughters, Rebecca, Julia, and Isabella, who are thriving in their careers and educational paths from speech pathology, health care, and aviation. Our youngest daughter will be headed off to college this year, reminding me that time flies.

I would love to start meeting some of our families ahead of our new school year. I’ll host two “Popsicles with the Principal” events on August 1and 10 from 3:00-4:00 PM. All are welcome to join me on one of those dates to enjoy popsicles and some playtime on our playground!

I am honored to serve the Exton Elementary community. I look forward to getting to know everyone and supporting our students as they grow, learn, and achieve their personal best.

With EXE pride,

Kristin Bulgarelli

TIME TO MEET THE NEW PRINCIPAL, MRS. KRISTIN BULGARELLI

Mark your calendars for a Meet and Greet with Mrs. Bulgarelli. She will host on two dates:

August 1 from 3-4 and August 10 from 3-4.

Big picture

CLASS - TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS 2023-2024 - REMINDER

One of our most important tasks is the formation of classes for the upcoming school year. The placement of 400+ students, for the following school year, is a very complex process with many factors impacting the decision-making. Each year a team comprised of your child’s teacher, reading specialists, special area teachers, guidance counselor, gifted teacher, ELL teacher, learning support teachers, and I work collaboratively to create the classes for the following school year.

The team takes many factors into consideration when placing students. In addition to School Board policy for class size, we have to create a balanced classrooms taking into account the academic needs, social and emotional needs, gender and race. Students' current teachers share with the team students' strengths, needs and progress.

Due to all of these critical factors, we ask that no specific requests for next year’s teacher be made. Please be assured that we have every child’s best interest at heart throughout the placement process. You will be notified of your child’s assignment, in August, after all class lists are approved and final.

We are looking forward to the great things the Board will do for Exton next school year.

THE PTO WILL NEED YOU!!!! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Our PTO works hard to provide the school with activities and fund raisers to support Exton. The Board cannot do all of the planning, nor should they. Committees: Assemblies, Bingo Night, Eagle's Nest (New Families Ambassador Program), Eagle's Pride Walk-A-Thon, Movie Nights, Spirit Wear, Spring Fair, Teacher Meals, Trunk-or-Treat, Memory Book, Garden/Beautification to name a few. If you have questions, email ExtonPTO@gmail.com.
