Technical Theatre Workshops

The Creation of Immersive Theatre

What is Immersive Theatre?

Immersive Theatre is an exciting form of theatre which is quickly gaining popularity in the United States. This form of live performance blends the lines between the actors and the audience in an effort to create a new sensory experience. However, redefining the traditional audience-actor relationship creates new challenges for designers. How do you manage sight-lines if the audience can stand wherever they want? What is the best way to give a cue to two actors who are on different floors of a building at the same time? How do you create props that the audience can pick up and carry around with them?

Please join us for the final Technical Theatre Workshop as we explore the opportunities and challenges of designing and creating an immersive environment.
