Wilma Rudolph is the most influential female athlete because she won a bronze medal in 1965 in Melbourne, Australia and she survived multiple diseases. Wilma enrolled at Tennessee State University and got a full scholarship to run track in college after she healed from polio. Wilma Rudolph played a lot of sports. She really liked sports especially basketball. Wilma entered in the Olympics and made many achievements. Her achievements led her to become one of the most known female athletes. Wilma was born premature and pushed herself to become the most noticed female athletes. Wilma was born on June 23,1940. Because of segregation Wilma had to go to an African American hospital to get treated for polio.
