Family Art Night

Please save the date for our upcoming Family Art Night to be held on Thursday, April 21 from 5-6pm. Featured art will include "Black Light Art" from our K-2nd graders! There will also be fun activities to engage all ages. Bring the family out for an evening of fun in art!

As some of you may know, Ramadan has begun. Many of our students and staff will choose to participate in this month of fasting between dawn and sunset for 29 to 30 days. During these hours, participants will not be able to eat or drink anything.

I would like to let you know that staff at Manford Williams Elementary are ready and happy to provide supports.

We will have a designated area available at lunch time for fasting students who do not wish to come to the cafeteria. Fasting students who want to sit in the cafeteria are welcome to do so and will not be required to eat or drink. During outdoor recess, fasting students are welcome to sit in a shaded area, or can request to spend this time indoors.

Please reach out to your child's teacher/front office and encourage your children to communicate with their teachers about any needs that may occur during Ramadan.

Our partnership with our school community is important. We thank our families for their communication with the campus regarding special occasions and observances that may impact the instructional day, so that we can be a source of support to all.

Anitra Wilson, Principal

Report Cards are Available to View

Report Cards are now available to view in Skyward. Please review the instructions below to access your student's 3rd nine week report card. I have also included instructions for setting up Skyward notifications, such as alerting you when your student has a grade of 70 or below. This definitely helps parents to more closely monitor student academic progress.

The event will be presented in English on Tuesday, April 12th 5pm to 5:30pm and in Spanish on Wednesday, April 13th 5pm to 5:30pm. Families with children 2 months to Pre-K are encouraged to attend.

You can also engage in learning by reading the weekly newsletter that usually goes out on Fridays from your homeroom teacher in Canvas. The weekly newsletter tells you what they will study in the upcoming week, any upcoming grades, and/or activities in class. #stayconnected
