Family Newsletter - May 15th, 2022

Kellogg Families

Several things to keep an eye out for:

  • As you have read, there has been a spike of reported COVID cases at Kellogg. We still provide masks at school if your student would like one. They can be found in the office.
  • A message went out about the recommendation from Multnomah County in regards to wearing masks indoors. It is a recommendation, not mandate.

Thank you to those who volunteered for the dance this Friday the 20th. The dance is later after school and we expect students to not stay at the school until the start of the dance. There will not be supervision of students until the start of the dance.

- One student expectation that has been communicated and will be reiterated this week is that all students are welcome to the dance unless a higher level discipline referral is received and processed with administration this week.

If you have questions, please call the main office or email Ms. Roletto at

Library - Updated!

Kellogg Students & Families!

As we near the end of the school year, we are reminding families to return library and textbook materials they have at home before they leave for the summer.

Please check your shelves, under the bed, behind the couch, in backpacks and lockers, everywhere! for books to return to the library.

The last day to check out books is May 27. All books are due to the library June 3.

Help us keep our library and textbook materials available for all to use and enjoy.

Ebooks will still be accessible throughout the summer both on Destiny and on Sora. If you need help accessing digital books, please come by the library and we’ll help get you connected.

Family Resources

The SAY Wellness Health Education team at Portland Public Schools is excited to announce the development and release of a new parent and caregivers support guide. This resource was created especially for parents and caregivers of LGBTQIA2S+ youth. It contains helpful information, journaling prompts, local and national resources, and many other gems designed to help parents better understand and support their LGBTQIA2S+ young person. This support guide was reviewed and contributed to by K-12 students at 8 different GSA's around our district. We hope it can be a helpful resource for many families in Portland and beyond! [GUIDE]
