5/6 Stars Shout Out to Essential Workers

We eagerly welcome the warmer weather coming our way this week! The sun, fresh lawns and new growth in our backyards can be energizing and inspire hope and feelings of renewal.

Welcome Spring....we think it is finally going to stick! Learning and opportunities for engagement continue for students and staff having now found a bit more a flow and routine in our days. We know that there will still be highs and more challenging moments in our days as learners, parents and families. Be patient with each other and yourselves....we are still #inthistogether and #stayingstrong. We will continue to keep you informed of any Ministry Updates through the LDSB social media platforms. See below a workshop available for parents to support their children in the areas of Executive Functioning: organization, planning and prioritization.

  • Executive Functions Webinar for Parents 7:00 – 8:30 pm

Learn about executive functions (EFs) and the role they play with academic and everyday tasks. Explore ways to identify and leverage EF strengths, and learn about strategies to help our kids improve and support areas of weakness.

Click the link below to join at the time of the webinar.

As always, please continue to follow LDSB on any or all of these platforms for the most up to date information:

Well, our first challenge was an individual or family one and it can be the one you stick with....can you, together, or on your own, get enough kilometers in to run a marathon in the month of May? You can walk, you can run, you can walk/run...the goal is to keep our bodies moving!

This week we are ready to launch a new challenge that can also take you through the month of May, If you enjoy changing it up, and like to spice up your week with different kinds of movement, we have got the right thing for you!

We have created a Virtual Run club through a Google classroom. The class code is included below for students and families that are interested - participation is invited and encouraged by all! In the classroom you will find a BINGO CHALLENGE! Your goal is to complete a line a week, or more! You can submit your progress through the classroom and we will celebrate our efforts together. More explanations of Cross Training, Power Exercises and Core Exercises are found in the classroom.

Let's see what you've got Lancaster! CLASS CODE: j3eJs76

Double Digits are in the weather forecast....perfect for getting out there and getting active!

Your running coaches,

Ms. McDougall, Mr. Vreeken, and Ms. Fox
