Units of Study

Social Studies: We are moving right along to our next unit on the river systems and ecosystems of South Carolina. Can you name the 4 major river systems and 4 main ecosystems of our great state?

Our class is publishing a class book that YOU will have a chance to order!! As part of an integrated writing and social studies project, students will each research one of our state symbols and will write a report on their findings. They will also include an illustration of their symbol. With the help of Student Treasures Publishing company, we will compile all of our reports and illustrations into a class book. Our publication date is set for December 1st. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting project!

We have spent some time during our morning meeting lately reflecting on our school year thus far. Now that we have been in school for nearly six weeks, we felt it was important to revisit our school and classroom rules. Students completed a self-assessment to see how they are doing and to set goals for moving forward. We have talked a lot about respect: what it means, why it is important, how to show it, etc. We have tied this right in with our No Place for Hate promise and what it means to follow this promise in all aspects of life.
