Destination Imagination
Novi Destination Imagination is Forming Teams!
Is your child a STEAM-enthusiast, budding artist or storyteller, passionate community activist, or love to learn and explore new ideas? Destination Imagination can nurture that curiosity and use it to build lifelong skills for success.
In DI, teams of 2-7 students hone their Creative Problem Solving skills by working together to solve STEAM-based challenges. Teams compete against other teams in their division - Elementary (3-5), Middle (6-8), and Secondary (9-12) - to determine which unique solution best solves their chosen problem. Kindergarten-2nd grade students non-competitively showcase their solutions. Students are guided by adult team managers, but all of the ideas and work involved in creating their solution must come from the children - no adult interference! This approach helps the students develop their problem solving, creative thinking, and leadership skills to prepare them to confidently tackle whatever challenges they may face in the future!
Every child can participate in DI and benefit from the program! If you would like to learn more, Novi Destination Imagination will be holding an informational meeting.
Date: Tuesday, October 29th
Time: 7pm
Where: Novi Meadows 5th grade cafeteria.

VO Flags
One of the things that makes our building so special is our diverse student population--we have families in our community who come from all over the world! To celebrate our global diversity we have hung flags in our cafeteria that represent many of the countries of our VO families. As a gift from VO retirees we were given flags of the following countries: Israel, India, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, South Korea, China, and USA. Thank you to our parents who have also donated the following flags: Poland, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Nepal, Greece, Pakistan, Uruguay, Ecuador, Portugal, Spain, Central African Republic, South Africa, Wales, Iceland, Australia, Armenia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Russia, Scotland and Yemen. If you would like to purchase a flag of your country of origin or to represent one of the many nationalities of our school please visit Amazon and search for an ANLEY 3x5 flag: VO Flags
Before purchasing and donating the flag to our school’s collection please contact me or one of our secretaries with the flag information so we can make sure that another family has not already ordered the same flag.
Halloween Parade
On October 31st we will have our Halloween Parade at 9:45am around our track. Teachers will contact parents with specific information regarding their classroom parties. As you prepare for Halloween and decide on whether your child will wear a costume, please make sure that the costume is not gory and no weapons are allowed. Additionally, please make sure that your child is wearing clothing under his/her costume. If you have any questions regarding costumes feel free to contact your child’s teacher or someone in the main office.
