Vol#8 Issue#10: Last Week of the Quarter!
At Mesquite, we develop & celebrate the WHOLE child while recognizing their unique qualities!
From the desk of Mrs. Koberstein, Proud Principal
Thank you all for taking the time to meet with teachers this week for conferences to discuss the goals set for your child this year. It really is going to be a great year and we appreciate all of us working together!
Tonight is MES Spirit Night from 4-8pm at Panera on Williamsfield Rd. Use the flier above. Also, it is not too late to register for the MES Golf Tournament which is this Sunday, September 26th. Details are at the end of this newsletter.
There's another way you can help support our school. During the month of September, if you dine at the San Tan Thirsty Lion Monday through Thursday, then 15% of your bill will be donated back to our school. Just show them the flyer below or let your server know you wish to support Mesquite Elementary School.
Hard to believe, the last week of the quarter is upon us! Friday, October 1st is National Walk to School Day! Mrs. Koberstein, Ms. Pardy and our MES Dads are partnering together. Plan to meet them at 7:15AM on Friday, October 1st by the stables on Mesquite Street. (Close to Val Vista). We should be back by 7:35ish. If anyone would like to join us we would love to have you! No worries if not, we will have parents joining us. When we get back to school the Dad's Club will be providing donuts for all walkers. If you would like to join this event, please fill out this form Walk to School RSVP so Dad's Club knows how many donuts to purchase. If you have questions, contact Ms. Pardy, PE Teacher.
If you own a small business or know of a business who would like to sponsor an outdoor table at Mesquite Elementary, please contact the Mesquite Elementary front office. The business logo would be engraved as part of the center of the table. Contact the Mesquite front office to learn more!
Be sure you complete the "Annual Update" (see the button below).
This school year we continue to work hard to keep our campus safe and our students as healthy as possible. Thank you to those families who are doing their part, conducting Daily Health Screening checks on your child. (The Mesquite staff and I are doing the same.) If your child is sick, do NOT send them to school. Face Masks continue to be "optional" however they are strongly encouraged as part of the mitigation strategies. If our school Nurse or a Health Assistant calls to inform you that your student is ill or that they have been identified as needing to quarantine please understand that we are following the guidance of the Maricopa County Department of Health and the CDC, and that this is required by the Arizona Department of Health. We understand that having your child home from school for an extended period of time can cause undue stress and we appreciate your support in following these required guidelines. Thank you for your understanding and support of our nurses, health assistants, and front office staff during this challenging time. They are doing their very best for our families and it is important that we all work together. Our priority is to keep kids in school safely to learn in-person! Should you have questions or concerns please call the District Health Office, Jen Frost at 480-545-2117
Parents, you make a difference in our Mesquite Community! Your involvement in our school not only leaves a tremendous impact on your child, but also contributes greatly to the positive climate we are especially proud of at Mesquite. Consider volunteering in your child's classroom or getting involved in our school by teaching Art Masterpiece lessons. Let's make it a PawRRRific school year! I look forward to strenghtening our relationships this next quarter! We appreciate your being a valued partner! #mountainlionpride
