Oakdale High School, Home of the Bears
Principal's Message
Bears,
This week we reached our final term of the school year! This is an exciting time with preparations for a variety of end of year events, as well as the start of our Spring Sports competition season. The rain will soon change to sunshine and we’ll be working quickly toward the end of the school year. Please continue to encourage your students to persevere until the end. Our staff is working hard to serve, and our students need to continue to work diligently to the end of the year. Enjoy the weekend!
Mr. Caulfield
Proud Principal
Oakdale High School
UPDATED TARDY PROCEDURES
UPDATED TARDY PROCEDURES
OHS has seen a dramatic increase in unexcused late arrivals to school and tardies to Block 1. Students miss directions and valuable instructional time when late to class. Starting Term 4, students will receive a lunch detention slip after their 3rd tardy to school. Students will be expected to serve their lunch detention on the day of the 4+ tardy. Lunch detention is in Mr. Schlee’s room, D149.
Students who leave campus early and are not present for lunch (work study, open campus, interns, etc) will serve detention during SET in the AP office. Failure to serve the assigned detention will result in progressive discipline. Excessive tardies will include administrative intervention and consequences. Extra-curricular non-participation rules for being tardy still apply.
School Bells!
Reminder! The First Bell is at 7:15 AM and class starts at 7:30 AM. Please be in your class on time.

Do you speak another language at home? You may be eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy.

1. Pass the Maryland High School Assessment in English or have passed English 10
2. Score Intermediate High Proficiency or equivalent on an approved world language assessment

The seal will be awarded at the Seniors Awards Ceremony to those qualifying seniors who took the AP exam in their sophomore or junior year or successfully achieve a qualifying score on an alternate assessment. Mamma Mia at OHS!
Oakdale High School is proud to present their annual spring musical Mamma Mia! on April 27, 28 and 29. Over 60 million people worldwide have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show!
Tickets are on sale right now at www.ShowTix4u.com.
ABBA's hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit for any theatre fan. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget! Dancing in the aisle is not only welcomed at our show, it's encouraged! Like the film made of this musical, Mamma Mia is rated PG-13 for language and innuendo.
Mamma Mia will be presented on April 27, 28 and 29 with all shows at 7pm. There will be a matinee on April 29 at 1pm. Tickets purchased in advance are $10 for FCPS students and $14 for adults. Tickets purchased at the box office just prior to the show will be $18 regardless of student or adult. Purchasing your tickets in advance saves you money AND gives you your choice of the best seats in the house!
You can purchase your tickets at our online box office, www.ShowTix4u.com right now! We can't wait to present Mamma Mia! to our Oakdale community!
