Opening Day!!
Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year
Please feel free to reach out if you have more questions. My email is glenn_widor@webstercsd.org. We will have another newsletter on Friday to wrap up the week!
Masks are a must!!!
Attendance on remote (asynchronous) learning days
On days, when students are learning remotely, they will need to check themselves in each day on the student portal. Ideally this will happen before 9:30 and they do not have to check in again. I would recommend that students do this when they get up and before they start learning for the day. Here are some easy directions for students to use (there are also screenshots below). The district will also be sending reminders to students that are learning remotely each morning with a link to the directions to sign in.
On Wednesdays, students are not required to check in to their study halls in the mini schedule. Those periods should be treated as a screen break for staff and students.
If a student is 100% remote they should also check-in remotely on the student portal. Their teachers will confirm their attendance when they meet.
Schedule Exception Days
In order to maximize the in-person learning experience this year, some weeks with a day off this year, such as Columbus Day, will have school in person at school on the Wednesday of that week.
This day is a schedule exception and students do not follow the regular Wednesday mini schedule but instead follow the schedule in person at school for the Letter and Number in the Rotation. For example: If the day is A1, all students follow the A day schedule. Hybrid Group 1 students attend school and Remote students remotely attend periods 1, 3, 5, & 7. The days when this will happen are:
10/7/2020, 10/14/2020, 1/20/2021, 1/27/2021, 6/2/2021, & 6/16/2021 (Middle School).
We will send out reminders in future newsletters as these dates approach.

Student Parking Update
Security has been reviewing each student's Parking Permit Application. Students who need to supply additional information have been sent an email to their school email address. Please check your email!!
Our parking passes are currently ordered but have been delayed in their delivery. Consequently, students will be able to park on campus next week without a visible pass. We will distribute passes as soon as they come in. Follow the guidance of our sentries in the parking lot and please drive carefully!!
School Picture Days
Ready for school? Download Pikmykid!!
Pikmykid is an app that we will be using to health screen students before they come on to campus each day. I recently registered for my own children and the app is really easy to use.
Each morning you will receive a notification to complete the screening. Students who do not have the screening completed prior to coming on campus will have their temperature checked upon arrival.
You can now register in the PikMyKid app, or on the website!
Don’t forget, the PikMyKid Support Team is always available to help you when you have a question. You can contact them at support@pikmykid.com.
Next Thursday, September 10th, we will begin using PikMyKid. We will use this system if you need to mark your child absent (no need to call the absence phone number) and to complete the daily health screening required for students to attend school! We will
A message for students who are travelling!!
- They may NOT join 100% remote learning students
- They may ask the teachers for class work just like when they are sick
- They may not have a neg covid-19 test in lieu of a 14 day quarantine and return to school early like essential employees can. They must wait out their 14 day quarantine.
- If they develop symptoms, they must be tested and follow HCP/DOH guidance based on results.
- They can come back after 14 days if they and their family members have remained symptom free.
Families are encouraged to notify the Department of Health (DOH) upon their return by completing the Travel Health Form on the NYSDOH site.
**If students end up being quarantined or isolated by the DOH due to exposure or developing symptoms, we must receive release documentation from the DOH in order to return to school.
