Dear Parents / Carers,

This week has been another busy week at Kirk Fenton. It has been a delight to see how many of our pupils have been taking part in extracurricular clubs and activities and the enjoyment that they get from doing the wide range of activities on offer from gardening to singing and even quidditch!

The next few weeks are busy weeks in school with statutory assessments in Years 1, 2, 4 and 6 so it is good to see the children having fun outside of school hours.

Next week we will be celebrating the coronation on Friday by wearing red, white and blue and having a celebratory school dinner. Don't forget that Monday is a bank holiday and school will be closed.

Finally, a reminder to parents that you should not be parking or dropping off children in the bus lay-by in front of school in the morning please.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend,

Karen Williams

Staff Thank You's

If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter break, and those who ordered coronation items have received theirs. A few updates from Friends this week:

- Sherburn Gala: We have a stand at Sherburn Gala on Saturday 20th May. Our stall will be selling cakes, drinks and snacks alongside a teddy tombola (and maybe an alcohol one?). Please email or let us know on the Friends Facebook page if you can help in any way, either by baking, or donating teddies or a bottle of wine/spirit.

- School Disco! We are really excited to be planning the first school discos in a very long time. Save the date: Thursday 25th May. More information to follow, with timings and booking details.

- Summer Fair: We are getting started with planning the Summer Fair, which will be on Saturday 15th July. If anyone is able to help in any way, with taking on a stall, helping with planning or supplying items for the fair, please let us know. This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and a great event for all.

- Bags2School: If you are having a post-winter clear out – keep hold of anything that could be donated for Bags2School. We are arranging a second collection for before the summer holidays, date TBC.

We are currently raising funds, and applying for grants to help fund some new Chromebooks for the pupils as well as provide a covered play area for EYFS pupils, alongside the ongoing support provided to the school in paying for coaches for school trips and treats for the children throughout the year.
