Atlanta Public Schools Goes Virtual

While schools are closed due to the impact of COVID-19, teachers will continue to provide instruction via distance learning. Teachers and students are to access each of the district-provided e-resources through MyBackPack. If students are having difficulty logging in to MyBackPack, please email Ms. Lawrence (Media Specialist).



Username: first initial + last name up to 7 letters + last 4 digits of student id#

Did you know that APS students have a direct link to our local libraries here in Atlanta? Students AND staff are able to access free AFPLS products like ebooks, music, videos, and more!

All users are able to access AFPLS CLASS PASS through MY BACKPACK.

  • Students will use their APS log in credentials.
  • Staff will use their Lawson number and the temporary password is CHANGEME.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Now Available At Home!

Students can now access Accelerated Reader at home!! Students will log into MyBacpack and select the Renaissance icon.

WHAT IS ACCELERATED READER?

Accelerated Reader is an online resource that presents students with questions about books that they have read. Parents and students can visit AR Book Finder to determine if there is a quiz for a particular book)When students answer questions correctly they build points towards their reading goals. The reading goals for each grade level are as follows:


Kindergarten: 8 Points

First Grade: 10 Points

Second Grade: 20 Points

Third Grade: 20 Points

Fourth Grade: 30 Points

Fifth Grade: 30 Points

MYON: Books, Books, and More BOOKS!

Also found in Atlanta Public School's MYBACKPACK...myON Reader gives pre-K–12 students access to thousands of enhanced digital titles—fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and more—at a wide range of reading levels, in English and Spanish! Once students have read their favorite book they can then take an AR quiz and add to their AR points toward their goal.
