Principal's Message
Our first STAAR testing week is now over! We were able to test 1066 students! Our teachers shared with me that our students gave great effort in completing their exam. Congratulations!
Our next STAAR exams will be in May. May 7th our Algebra I students will be taking their test and on May 9th all of our Biology students will take their exam. Keep reading the weekly newsletters to keep up with upcoming activities, events, and information.
Today, Dr. Null was on campus to officially recognize the recipients of this year's "All Means All" Scholarship! This is a special honor to these hard working students! Congratulations to Jose Acosta, Jocelyn Alvarado, Luisa Aloise, Destiny Campos, Christian Castillo, Jose Castillo, Marian Fuentes, Karen Galeas, Sindy Martinez, and Inyene Udoh! These students are members of the 1st Generation College Cohort and will receive a $2000 to attend the college of their choice upon graduation!
This coming Thursday our campus will be hosting a "Challenge Day". I have attached a video above so you can see what it is all about. Our teachers nominated 100 of our students to attend. We have invited teachers, administrators and counselors from the Main campus to also participate in the day to help them to begin to make connections with the CHS Class of 2022. This will be a special day for our campus!
I am going to continue to include information regarding this May's bond election in our newsletters. Please watch the videos and read the information to educate yourself on the facts. This bond will impact your child's future education. Early voting begins on April 22, which happens to be a school holiday.
It is an honor to be your child's principal so please continue let me know if their is anything we can improve or do to assist our students in reaching their full potential! Use the "Suggestions Box" on our website or just call or send me an email.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Bryan Gorka
