Counselor's Corner
Hello Sharks! Welcome back to school. What a fun week it has been! This week I had the pleasure of visiting classrooms to introduce myself to students and talk to them about staying safe in school. In grades K-2, I talked about all of the emotions that we have and how a school counselor can help with students. In grades 3-5, I talked with students about "sailing into success" and how I can help them have a successful year. I will be visiting middle school classes next week; I'm so excited to see them after our long break!
In all face to face classrooms, we also discussed mask wearing and social distancing. I reminded students that the way we can show each other we are a good friend is by wearing our masks and keeping our distance. I also reassured them that with these safety measures in place, we can feel comfortable and safe while in school. Check in with your student and ask them about meeting with me. See what they remember, and please reinforce that I am always there to help them should they have a problem at school.
Thank You,
Jennifer D'Amico
