WRITING WITH MRS. ROSS
Students finished typing their literary essays last week. Their typing skills are so wonderful that many of them were also able to publish their opinion essays from December!! I continue to marvel at the gains each of them is making in their writing and especially enjoy hearing them comment on the progress that they have made since the beginning of the year. Each of them has a portfolio of their published work that you can have them bring home and then bring back to school to add tol
Math with Mrs. Nick
The students are finishing the unit on fractions, measuring angles and multi-step word problems. These are areas that the students will continue to develop fluency and accuracy in future units in math. Next week they will begin focusing on extending division to include dividing a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number. They will also solve number stories using division. It is important that they continue to work on learning the multiplication facts.
