Words From Our Principal
Dear Parents,
We are very excited about all the wonderful accomplishments of our students this semester. Our students have participated in Math Field Day, Science Fair, Knowledge Bowl, sports, choir festival, and Tri-M Ceremony among other events. Our students had their Sweetheart’s dance and have participated in sports’ assemblies. In addition, we had our College Making it Happen night where parents had the opportunity to listen to presenters share information on how to best prepare our students for college. At BVM, we pride ourselves in providing a plethora of opportunities for students to thrive academically and as well-rounded individuals. I encourage all students to participate in our activities and school events. I am very proud of all our students and thank parents for all your continual support and encouragement. Keep up the great work. Go Crusaders!!!

Tri-M Music Honor Society
The Tri-M Music Honor Society performed at the First United Methodist Pre-School on Thursday, 2/11. The students played age-appropriate songs for their young audience to sing along to, such as The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus and Old MacDonald. Everyone enjoyed their time giving back to the community.
Student Art Work
“Things that fly” was the theme for the art classes who completed carving and printing on their linoleum rubber plate. Great job showing lots of creativity Crusaders!
Staff of the Month
Thinkabit Lab
On Feb 9th a group of students from BVM were able to go on a field trip to visit the Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab. This lab is designed to expose students to exciting careers and teach them about engineering, coding, and robotics. Students were given a crash course on how to use an Arduino microprocessor to light up an LED and control a servo motor. They learned to how to write code for the microprocessor to control the lights and servo. Using this knowledge they were then given the task, “to make something that does something.” Armed with scissors, glue guns and tons of toys and crafting materials the students began creating. After about an hour, students presented their creations to their classmates. The creativity displayed was amazing, from a ferris wheel that spun around carrying animals to a dancing robot to a “whaleacopter”. Overall, the students had a great time and had a fun experience!
PTSA Updates
Listen up Crusaders! This is our last opportunity to collect Box Tops and earn some money for our school. So look through your pantry and bring in lots and lots of Box Tops! Ask your grandma, ask your cousins, and support your school! Deadline to bring in Box Tops is Monday, February 29th. We truly for your support!
