Back to School Reminders
- The first bell rings at 7:25am; the tardy bell follows at 7:30am. If students are not in their first block class before the tardy bell rings, they are considered tardy
- Traffic will be heavy traveling into and out of KRHS at the beginning and end of the day - please plan accordingly to arrive on time
- Cougar Time is from 10:35-11:05am (this timeframe is NEW this year) each day (Monday = first block, Tuesday = second block, Wednesday = homeroom, Thursday = third block, and Friday = fourth block)
- The dress code is important to us! Please ensure that you are familiar with the FCPS Dress Code Policy (pages 14-15) and choose clothing that meets the criteria. Hats, hoods, pajamas, and exposed midriffs are the most common issues we encounter. Thank you for your assistance!

- Volleyball vs. Tuscarora (scrimmage) at home - Freshmen at 5pm, JV at 6pm, and Varsity at 7pm
- Field Hockey (scrimmage) at Charlottesville - 6pm and 7:30pm
- Golf at Winchester Country Club - 4:30pm
- Varsity Football (scrimmage) at home vs. Eastern View - 6pm

Meningitis Vaccination
- Seniors must be vaccinated for Meningitis; there will be no exceptions this school year
- Please note - without a vaccination, students may not attend school

Attendance Reminders
Student Absences/Tardies
If your student is absent or tardy, please email the attendance office (krhsattendance@fcps1.org) before 9am.
Please include the following information:
- Name of student
- Your name (parent/guardian) and relationship to student
- Telephone number where parent/guardian may be reached
- Reason for the absence or tardy
Please note: If KRHS is not contacted by parent/guardian, the absence/tardy will be marked unexcused
Student Early Dismissals
If a student needs an early dismissal, the parent/guardian may submit a note prior to first block or email the attendance office directly at krhsattendance@fcps1.org.
Please include:
- Name of your student
- Your name and relationship to the student
- Telephone number (where you may be reached)
- Reason for early dismissal
- Requested time of departure
**Please Note: early dismissals are processed on a first come, first served basis; the earlier the request is received, the sooner it will be handled

School Nutrition
Aunque sea cierto que el servicio de comidas ha vuelto a ser como era antes de la pandemia, los estudiantes aún pueden recibir comidas gratuitas mediante Certificación Directa (con la que ya debería haber recibido una carta), solicitudes de comidas completadas en línea en www.MySchoolApps.com o mediante una solicitud en papel. A los estudiantes que cumplen los requisitos para comidas a precio reducido no se les cobrará el precio reducido, sino que se les proporcionarán comidas sin cargo.
Platos principales adicionales y artículos a la carta no están incluidos en la comida, pero se pueden comprar. Para recibir una comida reembolsable se tiene que seleccionar una porción de fruta o verdura.
