When I realized what Jake was doing I thanked him and asked him to continue helping his peers and act as my lab technician to help me in monitoring everyone's safety and technique while using the Bunsen burners. Most importantly Jake exhibited the 3rd core value, Be Resourceful/Safe. When Jake noticed that some of his peers were lost during the lab he stepped in and assisted without being prompted by his teacher.
