Early Release Day Staff Snack
Our next PTA sponsored Early Release Snack Day will be Friday, October 20th.
Every early release day, a lunch or snack is provided to the TCE staff by the PTA, along with the support of TCE families. All help is appreciated!

Link your VIC card to a Together in Education school between Wednesday, September 6 and Tuesday, October 31. Spend $100 shopping with the Harris Teeter Express Lane in a single visit each week for five weeks out of the eight week time period and your linked school will earn $50.
If you are linked to more than one school, the $50 will be split among the schools to which you are linked. One VIC card can be linked up to 5 schools.
Note, a school must earn at least $25 to receive a check.

The PTA has some open positions for the 2017-2018 school year. Please consider chairing (or co-chair with a friend) one of these positions with the PTA. The former chairs will be happy to help by passing along all information needed for these positions. Without YOUR help, we will not be able to do it all!
Position: Frogapalooza Committee - This committee supports the Frogapalooza Chair who organizes and manages TCE’s community Spring Carnival happening
March 24. Each committee member will lead one of the following areas: food trucks, auction/raffle, classroom baskets, carnival games/activities, student performances, Lily Pad bakery, Teacher Time Raffles, vendor booths and communication. Time commitment: September-March. Contact Jackie Taylor president@tce-pta.org for more information.
Position: VP Ways & Means -- This position is a PTA board position which provides oversight and coordination of our annual fundraising activities. We already have wonderful volunteers filling the chair positions, but we still need the final member of the team. You will attend monthly PTA meetings.
Position: Board Intern – This position shadows the board members. You will attend meetings, once per month and be an active volunteer, helping out wherever and whenever you are able. You get first-hand experience with each of the positions, and this will prepare you to fill a board member position in future school years.
We can’t do all we want without YOUR help!

Boosterthon
Boosterthon is our annual Fun Run fundraiser which focuses on raising money for technology. This year’s theme is Castle Quest, an English theme all about learning to be brave and live with character. Keep an eye out for the Pledge Crown and further information which will be sent home in the Friday folders.
Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps your student will run on the day of the Fun Run. Please mark your calendars.

Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Help the Media Center get into the fall spirit by entering our Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest. This is an optional fun activity, to be completed at home.
Contest Rules -Decorate a small to medium sized pumpkin or gourd as a character from a favorite book. It must be a book character, not a TV or movie character. Absolutely NO carved entries will be accepted. Use materials like paper, glue, paint, yarn, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric or glitter to create your character. Include an entry form, or 3x5 card with the book title, character name, the student’s name, grade and classroom teacher’s name. Please do NOT put the student’s name on the project itself. If you wish, you may include a picture of the book, or the book to display with your pumpkin. Please put your name inside any book.
Pumpkins will only be accepted on Monday Oct. 23. All pumpkins must be taken home by Monday, Oct. 30. A form is at the end of this Ribbit Report.Box Tops and Tyson Labels
Help Us Raise Money for TCE!
The next submission date for Box Tops of Education is coming up. Please send in your valid (dated 11/1/2017 and beyond) Box Tops by October 16th. The Box Tops collection bin is located in the TCE lobby across from the main office.
Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. Here is a link showing participating Box Tops products.
Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢!
Please drop your Tyson Project A+ labels in the Box Tops collection bin in the TCE lobby. Here is a link for a list of participating products.
