Choir Student Shines
Congratulations to MCHS sophomore Sean Rowe for his excellent work representing MC Choirs in Regional Honors Choir at South Lyon high school this past Saturday! The day included a lot of learning, working with top choir students and various directors from around the state, and ended with a stellar performance of some very sophisticated repertoire. Nice work Sean!
Ford Field Field Trip
MCHS Business Education students went to Ford Field on Tuesday, December 10th. They attended a Detroit Lions Student Business Fair and learned about business operations, marketing, customer relationship management, finance, and much more. Ms. Gardner would like to thank the students for representing MCHS in a professional manner, and Mr. Frendt and the parents that chaperoned the event. It was a great day!
Football Coach Honored
It is our honor to announce that Coach Joe Fregetto was named the “2019 Assistant Coach of the Year” from the MHSFCA. Coach Fregetto has been with our program for many years and our success is directly related to his excellence as our JV head coach.
Marine City High Staff Spotlight
Student Assistance Center
The Student Assistance Center (SAC) is an important resource at Marine City High School. Students use the SAC to have tests read to them and for additional help with assignments, time management and organizational skills. We are fortunate to have two dedicated employees working there. Paraprofessionals Tricia Wiley and Joy Luther keep the SAC running smoothly every day.
Tricia has been an employee of East China School District since 2002. She has worked at Washington Elementary, Belle River Elementary and MCHS. Working with children has always been a passion for Tricia. She said she enjoys working in the Student Center because it gives her the opportunity to watch the students grow both academically and socially. Tricia and her husband Rick have three children; Ricky and Becca are MCHS graduates and Ryan is a current MCHS sophomore. In her down time Tricia enjoys yoga, running and spending time with her family.
Joy joined the MCHS staff this school year. Working in the Student Center has been a rewarding experience for Joy. She enjoys helping the kids reach their goals and watching them succeed. She says it brings a smile to her face when a student aces the test they’ve been preparing for or completes and turns in an assignment or essay that required a lot of hard work. The staff and students at MCHS have made her feel right at home and she is truly grateful for that. Joy and her husband Rob also have three children, Nate, Jacob and Gabe. She has lived in St. Clair for the past 17 years where she enjoys biking, reading and going for walks.
Marine City High School is lucky to have the SAC in such good hands and appreciate all the patience, enthusiasm and dedication that Tricia and Joy bring to their jobs.
