Principal's Corner
Thank you for your commitment to Marshall Public Schools. We are happy that our operational referendum passed on Tuesday evening. It was neat to hear from our young adults who were able to vote and encourage others to vote. Spring is in the air, as are all our wonderful activities to look forward to. For those who have inquired, Graduation is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th, as you will see more information in this news bulletin below. A senior planning team has been meeting to help coordinate efforts. The Marshall Scholarship Foundation banquet for seniors is scheduled for May 29.
Upcoming Assessment Reminders
ACT Aspire (Freshmen and Sophomores Only)
Freshmen and Sophomores will take the ACT Aspire, which assesses Reading, Math, Science, and English. This is an important assessment, as like the ACT, it will now become part of Marshall High School's School Report Card. We are planning the ACT Aspire to take place Tuesday, April 23-Friday, April 26. Remember, April 22 is a non-student day.
ACT Aspire Schedule:
7:55- 9:20 1st Hour (85 minutes)
9:20-9:35 Nutrition Break
9:35-11:00 FLEX (Testing) (85 minutes)
11:05-12:30 3rd Hour (85 minutes)
12:30- 1:00 LUNCH
1:05- 2:10 2nd Hour (65 minutes)
2:15- 3:27 4th Hour (72 minutes)
2019-20 Course Requests
On Monday April 8th students will be provided with a parent sign off sheet for course requests for the 19-20 school year. Please ask your student to see this sheet (provided in Homeroom) if they do not bring it to you. We are asking that you sign it and return it by the following Monday to their homeroom teacher. The students have been working on this for the last three weeks with their advisors.
