Sacred Heart School
Week of February 11
Living our Values
As the craziness begins, try to seek balance amongst all three. Feel free to move your schedule around so you can fit in your core learning classes. Try to find a quiet minute to enter deep prayer with your class and prepare yourselves for Lent. On Friday, let's take some time to celebrate and honor our Vietnamese community.
As always, we will go with the flow! If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to the us in the office.

Mardi Gras / Valentines Day / Pancake Sale
We will celebrate Valentine's day on Tuesday, Feb. 13th in observance of Ash Wednesday on Feb. 14th!
Early Childhood students will be served pancakes in their classroom.
For older students, we will call your class down to the cafeteria for pancakes. There's no need to send students down who did not purchase pancakes.
A Proposed Schedule
Early Childhood - in their classrooms
1st-2nd - 8:00-8:30
3-5th - 8:30-9:00
6th-8th - 9:00-9:30
Lent
1st-8th grade will attend Ash Wednesday Mass at 12:15 on Wednesday! A priest will come to school to give ashes to the Early Childhood students in the morning!
Last, but not least, CRS Rice Bowls will be sent home on Ash Wednesday! Next week, we will have an Rice Bowl Assembly.
Vietnamese New Year
So that is what we will do! I have scheduled a jeans day for kids to wear red and yellow! I have also purchased red envelopes and gold coins to give out to each of the kids.
I ask that each class explore the Vietnamese New Year in your own way! I've asked Ms. Julie for read aloud books that can be used - or, if you have a Vietnamese student in your class, consider having them share pictures of artifacts of their culture!
Last, but not least, I have called Fr. Francis, our Vietnamese priest, to come speak. I have not heard back from him - so I can't confirm if he's coming or not, but I will let you know as soon as I know!
