Boot Camp offers students an opportunity to participate in a “linguistic obstacle course” that includes real-world tasks to evaluate their language proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Students get real time feedback on their language performance, have the opportunity to connect with other language learners, and build their confidence to test for the Seal of Biliteracy. For more details, please visit the Seal of Biliteracy Boot Camp site.

OSTC After School or Saturday Showcases
Students interested in attending OSTC next year, are encouraged to attend a FREE and FUN after school or Saturday Showcase!
OSTC has added dates in January for these Showcases at OSTC-NE! Feel free to attend as many showcases as you'd like and send time doing some of the hands-on activities that are common for that respective program.
If students want to attend multiple showcase, they will complete the registration form multiple times (once for each date). To register for any of the FREE and FUN after school or Saturday Showcases at OSTC-NE, simply click on this link: https://forms.gle/FsGLsBMHCrVMrZ748
The Lake Orion Band Boosters will be partnering with Funds2org and hosting a used shoe donation drive that kicks-off in mid-January. This fundraiser helps offset this unnecessary waste and help keep shoes out of landfills. The gently used shoes that we collect will be consolidated and shipped by Funds2org to developing countries such as Haiti, Cambodia, and Botswana where they will be sold to small business owners for a very low price. In turn, the shoes will be sold by these small business owners to communities in need of proper footwear, at an inexpensive price. This helps create a path out of poverty for these small business owners in countries where there are limited, if any, job opportunities that pay a living wage.

School Dismissal Manager
We have started utilizing School Dismissal Manager (SDM), a program for parents to communicate early student departures. LOHS successfully used the SDM program last year. It is accessible on either computer or smartphone, allowing parents the opportunity to officially submit an early dismissal request without calling the school.
On approximately September 22, you should have received a communication from School Dismissal Manager with additional details. Parents are encouraged to check their designated email accounts. Also, be advised the message might be redirected to your “junk” folders. The welcome email from SDM provides all relevant information necessary to activate and begin using your account.
Family Portal
Just a reminder that Sendmoneytoschool.com has been replaced by lakeorion.familyportal.cloud. Please visit the site to set up a lunch account for your student. There is a tutorial at the bottom of the Family Portal page that walks you through the process of setting up an account. Information on meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year are listed below:
High School Prices
Breakfast Meal Price $2.00
Lunch Meal Price $3.50 - $3.75
