Sunset Feeder Excellence

School Visits
- We will complete spots based upon the random list I have received for completion. Additionally, my visit will focus upon the most current information and action plans by content area/grade level/department, etc.
- I would like to know the current status of each campus area which can be shared by the principal and may include CIC's, teacher leaders, department chairs, etc. I will schedule an extended amount of time over the next two weeks.
- Grade level, content areas, failure rate written plans- teacher by subject/campus by subject, student achievement, targeted supports for all tiers, common assessments by grade level/subject area/teacher, feedback processes for all areas including curriculum maps/common assessments/AP's/teachers, spot averages, attendance, MLEP, denial percentage plans, Special Education and completion rates.

Please make an extra effort to work with your counselors should any needs arise given the tragedy in Paris. Please keep me updated and provide sense-making to ensure any classroom activities are age-appropriate. Remember to be prepared to provide supports to students and faculty, especially during times such as now. Also, as a best-practice, ensure your leadership team is reminded of crisis plans and supports.

Week 13
Literacy Cadre- Due to the amount of principals who have requested participation in a Literacy Cadre with Teaching and Learning, we will be providing upcoming opportunities as a feeder.
Common Assessments- The AF's will be scheduling a calibration for common assessments with your teacher leaders, CIC's and any staff would like to participate in the collaboration.
ACP/EOC/Exams- What intentional instruction has taken place to provide tutorials to ensure end of semester student achievement? Are students receiving support during the day, after-school or on Saturday? How are individual needs supported? Have test coordinators prepared for ACP/EOC exams? What are the legal and local policy requirements for the test environment?
Field Trips- Please have a process which ensures the guidelines and timelines listed on each form. Additionally, create a campus process which ensures timely completion and includes the ability to provide adjustments.
To ensure efficiency of communication, please utilize one field trip coordinator to communicate with Erica Rosas. If there are any additional needs, the principal should make contact with the ED.

PTA State Organization
Cecilia Ortiz made contact with me regarding the status of each Sunset Feeder campus. There were a couple of items which required action for the PTA Executive Leadership. Since all of our campuses are active PTA members, she scheduled and appointment to ensure the principal is aware of PTA requirements per the state organization. I have sent each principal any follow-up required by the state PTA and copied Ms. Ortiz. I have included her contact information below. She will also be sending me resources for campus opportunities to apply for individual educator scholarships and campus recognition. She was very complimentary of our campus parent engagement!
