December 2021/January 2022
Together, we are The 1104
Hello Palm Bay Families,
We are just about through the first half of the year! As we move into the second semester, we will be concentrating on school attendance. The chaos of the last two years has affected students negatively when it comes to academics and behaviors. Any time a child is out of school, they are missing instruction and the learning of valuable skills. No matter how hard our teachers try, giving make-up work just isn't the same as being in class. Please make every effort for your child(ren) to be in school.
The staff at Palm Bay wishes you a happy holiday and prosperous 2022.
The 1104 is where the expectations are high and the learners WILL thrive! Thank you all for your support!
Your Administrative Team,
Patty Phillips

School Spotlights
So many exciting events are happening at the Palm in the months of December and January!
In kindergarten, our students have been participating in a project based learning with Anchorage Children's Home ! I hope everyone had a chance to see the news report on Channel 13 news! Their driving question ( "How can we take action to make a change in our community? ) lead this grade level to partner with Anchorage Children's Home to collect pajamas for students in need.
Also in December, we are hosting the school book fair and holding a family movie night! We will be having concessions, watching The Grinch, and taking pictures with the our very own Grinch ! There will also be a Whoville photo booth! This K-12 event will bring all ages and families together for a night of fun and fellowship at the 1104.
The Robotics Team went to competition in Orlando, FL! This is their first competition of the year displaying their innovative robots and making connections with other students across the state. Thank you to Mrs. Scurlock for organizing this event and teaching these critical thinking skills. Ms. Quillman is hosting an after school watch party for a special Zoom event on Tuesday December 7th from 3:30-4:30 with Dr. Derek Buzasi of NASA. He will be discussing the James Webb Space Telescope which provides an unprecedented look into the infrared spectrum of space!
