The Superintendent presented the following HIB Training and Student Safety Data System (SSDS) mandated reports per QSAC.
The Board of Education approved the following policies for 1st reading.
The Board of Education approved a sidebar with the GREA regarding additional prep time for elementary teachers.
The Board of Education discussed Mental Health First Aid training and certification for staff. The BOE supports this initiative and directed the superintendent to schedule identified staff to receive this training and certification.
The Board of Education joined Ms. Patricia Barden, President of the New Jersey Branch International Dyslexia Association to recognize Dr. Linda Edwards and the Special Education Department for the NJIDA Literacy for all Award.
The Board of Education discussed the formation of two Middle School based committees to research and make recommendations for a 1:1 Middle School initiative and the feasibility of changing the Middle School schedule to align with the High School schedule.
The Board of Education provided updates on the 2020-2021 Budget development process and the Referendum project timeline.
The Board of Education authorized the Business Administrator to solicit bids for a 3rd party vendor to provide teacher substitutes.
