BAYVILLE SCHOOL
APRIL NEWSLETTER 2017
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
As the warmer weather quickly approaches, children’s attire becomes a topic of discussion. Warm weather clothing should be appropriate according to the district’s dress code as noted in the school calendar. Opened toed shoes, such as sandals, high heels, flip flops or platform sneakers are unsafe on the playground. Tie or velcro sneakers are preferred. Shirts with bare midriffs are not permitted. Short skirts or shorts may not be shorter than the fingertip length of the student while standing upright. It is necessary for all students to dress appropriately to promote safety and order during the school day. Please help us keep your child safe and properly attired in school this spring.
This is a good time for parents and guardians of walkers to review safety rules with your children. Please be sure your child knows what to do in the event you are not home and also who they may be allowed to accept a ride from on their way home from school. The safety of all Bayville School students remains a priority.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
At a morning faculty meeting, Dr. James Roselli, School Superintendent, announced Mrs. Amanda McKenna as Bayville School’s Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018.
Congratulations from all of us here at Bayville School!
Spring Recess
The Berkeley Township School District will be closed from April 10 - 17 for Spring Recess. School will open for students and staff on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Bayville School's 90th Anniversary
JUNE 1st .WE NEED YOUR HELP
Please send an email with any pictures, news clippings or memories from your years at Bayville School to Bayvilleschools90th@btboe.org to help us celebrate this important milestone.
As the date approaches we will have more information about our ceremony and special day.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
We encourage parents to have students maintain a good attendance record.
Parents are asked, however, to follow the standing orders from our school doctor and keep students home for a full 24 hours fever free following a temperature. This is in the best interest of your child and the rest of the class.
A written note from the parent or a doctor’s note is a requirement of the district’s attendance policy. Without this note a child is considered truant according to district policy. These notes will be sent by the homeroom teacher to the nurse’s office where they will be recorded and filed.
