PBIS Coaching for Building Team Leaders

Description: This virtual series is for PBIS teams to receive additional information and coaching on targeted topics related to PBIS Tier 1 and 2.


Prerequisite:

Your team has previously attended training on Tier 1 and/or 2 or have been implementing PBIS in your building. We will use the Coaches Network to share, coach and discuss those topics in greater detail and how to utilize the material in your environment.


Outcomes:

Participants will


  • learn about updates and tools;
  • network with and learn from other PBIS Coaches across counties by sharing challenges and successes of implementing PBIS with fidelity;
  • gain deeper knowledge and understanding of specific topic areas within a Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavior with a focus on data, systems, and practices.

Flipped Office Hours

Description:

In order to provide deeper technical assistance and give PBIS teams/leads the opportunity to receive specific support on their own identified needs, SSTR5 will be utilizing the flipped classroom strategy for our office hours. Participants will engage with specific assigned content and resources prior to our virtual session(s) and will be encouraged to come with questions and ideas regarding how the information will be transferred to their school. This pre-work will allow more time for problem-based activities that involve higher-order thinking and real-life application during the scheduled live meeting time. Participants will be required to determine actions steps to be implemented that will be followed up by an SST consultant.


Prerequisite:

Your team has previously attended training on PBIS and is implementing PBIS.


Outcomes:

PBIS teams or PBIS leads will be challenged to explore specific content on PBIS Systems, Practices and Outcomes by engaging in problem-based learning discussions in order to effectively strengthen their PBIS framework.

PBIS Tier III

Description:

This 3 session professional Development series is designed to assist Tier III building level teams with strengthening their Tier III processes. In order to attend this training you must attend the training as a team. (Tier 3 team membership includes an administrator, a coach/behavior representative, and others with basic knowledge of problem solving. Team members should also include personnel who actively provide Tier 3 support in the school.)


Prerequisite:

Team has previously attended training on Tier 1 and 2 or have been implementing PBIS in your building with a minimum score of 70% on the TFI for Tier I and II.


Outcomes:

At the completion of the training, educational teams will be able to: Utilize a functional behavior assessment process to determine appropriate supports for students with complex needs (PBIS Tier III Support). Identify underlying characteristics and issues that drive students to engage in actions and behaviors that interfere with learning. Develop and implement intervention plans utilizing evidence-based practices that target teaching the student critical skills for academic and social success.
