MAP Results
Dear Peine Ridge Parent(s),
As educators and parents, we want our children to be successful. In sports, we measure success by the number of points scored, strikes thrown, or yards gained. In school, we measure student success in other ways, such as learning multiplication facts, completing homework, or earning satisfactory grades on report cards and tests.
In Missouri, the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) assesses students’ progress toward proficiency of the Missouri Learning Standards (MLS). Each Spring, the MAP test is given to third, fourth and fifth grade students. Students are assessed in the area of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Fifth grade students are also assessed in the area of Science. The MAP test uses three different types of questions: multiple choice, constructed response, and performance events. Students receive a grade according to four achievement levels: advanced, proficient, basic, or below basic.
The collective scores of student populations are used by the state of Missouri to determine whether schools and school districts are demonstrating Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Peine Ridge Elementary has continued its tradition of excellence by meeting AYP in all areas in each grade level on the MAP test. Our MAP scores rank Peine Ridge as one of the top elementary schools in the state.
Way to go Panthers! We are very proud of our students and their record of success.

DOODLE4GOOGLE:
Peine Ridge will be participating in the Wentzville School District Doodle4Google Competition. Each year, Google has a competition in which students from throughout the United States submit artwork featuring the word GOOGLE. This year’s theme is “What Does the Future Look Like”? There are multiple prizes awarded ranging from an Android tablet all the way to a $30,000 college scholarship and having your artwork featured on the Google Search homepage. If your child is interested in participating, or if you would like more information, please visit https://doodles.google.com/d4g/ But please do NOT mail or electronically submit your work. Instead, please have your child bring it to school and give it to Mrs. Miller. Our district is having a district contest prior to sending all entries to the Doodle4Google Contest: so your child will have two opportunities to win.
INTERNET SAFETY:
For the past few weeks, students have been learning about Internet Safety. We have focused on three things: first, make sure to tell a trusted adult about what you are doing on the internet, second, use hand held devices responsibly – know what is going on around you, and finally, be upstanding citizen if you see cyber-bullying. Common Sense Media provides a great website that provides useful information to help support your child as they navigate through our ever changing technology.
