Young at Art

An Exhibition of Art from St. Mary’s County Schools

Uniting St. Mary’s College and St. Mary's County Schools in Celebration of Student Creativity

Young at Art is the 2nd annual juried exhibition of artwork by elementary, middle and high school students enrolled in St. Mary’s County schools.

After a successful pilot in 2014, St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Boyden Gallery and Department of Educational Studies is teaming with local elementary, middle and high schools to present the second annual “Young at Art” exhibition.

This year’s exhibition builds on the success of last year’s pilot of student work from Great Mills High School, St. Mary’s Ryken High School, and Spring Ridge Middle School. Young at Art is now open to students in all St. Mary’s County schools.

Young at Art provides a valuable opportunity for local art students to exhibit their creative work in St. Mary’s County. It will be juried to offer students real world experience, feedback and recognition from established arts professionals. This year’s juror is Michelle Ivette Gomez, artist and independent curator from Baltimore, MD.

The exhibition also represents an important expansion in the partnership between arts

programs at St. Mary’s College and St. Mary’s County schools.
