- Capturing Kids' Hearts Training - 100% of our teachers and most of our classified have participated in this vital training. We have been names a National Showcase School for two years in a row, and our campus is a much friendlier and safer place as a result of this training.
- Professional Development to improve teacher instruction
- And much, much more

FREE GRAB AND GO MEALS FOR YOUTH 18 YEARS AND YOUNGER
We are pleased to announce that the USDA has extended the meal waiver which allowed us to provide free meals to the children of the Santa Clarita Valley during the spring and summer. Many students and families rely on school meals during the school week. As students continue to learn remotely in our valley, continued daily access to school breakfast and lunch is still a critical need.
William S. Hart Union High School District has received permission from the California Department of Education to immediately resume offering free grab and go meals for students, 18 years and younger, across our community. These grab and go meals are funded by the USDA, and are FREE to students 18 and younger.
FREE Meal Program Details:
- Free Grab and Go Meals will resume Thursday, September 3rd;
- Meals will be offered Monday through Friday, except Holidays;
- One bagged/boxed breakfast and lunch per child (18 years and younger) will be provided;
- Food served is healthy and follows USDA nutrition guidelines;
- No application or proof of income needed. You can just bring your child to meal site in your community.
Distance Learning Update
On Wednesday, the Governing Board voted to continue distance learning until at least October 16th, which marks the end of the first grading period. This is a natural transition point. The return is still contingent on whether Los Angeles County has been off the watch list for the set amount of time by that date. The current standard is 14 days in Tier 2.
If Los Angeles County does not meet the standard by October 16th, the next possible return date will be November 16th, which is the second quarter progress report period.
Regardless of the return date, parents may choose to continue to have their child stay with distance learning this year.
We continue to prepare for and look forward to students returning to campus. You can check out the September 2nd Hart District Governing Board meeting HERE. This link is active for fourteen days from last Wednesday.
