*Note: If you have 2nd lunch, you will go to your Academic Lab or class from 10:50 - 11:20, then go to lunch, and then return to your academic lab or class by 12:00pm.
BACK PACK POLICY
Backpacks
No backpacks in the classroom is a new safety protocol that will be in place this school year. Students should plan to put their backpacks in their lockers when they arrive, and get what they need from their lockers for class before 1st block begins, during passing time, and at lunch time. The only exception that will be considered for this expectation is a clear (see through) or mesh backpack.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What do I do if I don’t have a clear or mesh backpack?
Students are only required to carry a clear or mesh backpack if they are choosing to not use their locker. Students may purchase their own clear or mesh backpack, or order a school issued clear or mesh back back at no cost. If you would like to order a school issued backpack please complete the form below.
Backpack order form:
Am I allowed to carry a pencil pouch or lunch bag in my clear or mesh backpack?
Yes - students are allowed to carry pencil pouches in their backpacks. Students are encouraged to keep their lunches in their locker and retrieve them at their designated lunch period.
What if I don’t have enough time to go to my locker between each of my classes? What should I do?
Students should organize and manage when it’s most convenient to make a stop at their lockers. For example, a student may need to access their locker before school, take what they need for 1st & 2nd block, then visit their locker again midway through the day, and get materials needed for the remainder of their classes.
What if I need to carry personal items for medical, hygiene, learning, or other health reasons?
Students who need to carry special items to accommodate health, hygiene, or learning needs are encouraged to keep those items in a small pencil pouch inside their clear or mesh backpack.
Additionally, all students have been provided with a carrying case for their Chromebooks. These carrying cases have pockets that can hold special items to accommodate health, hygiene, or learning needs, and are allowed to be carried into the classroom.
STUDENT ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
Students may arrive at 7:30 a.m. daily if they would like to take advantage of eating breakfast. Any students entering the building for breakfast must come through the Main Entrance, and will be directed to the cafeteria where they must remain until 7:45.

ATTENDANCE & TARDY POLICY
Attendance
Student success is dependent on being present at school. Please make sure your student is attending and on time everyday. If your student must be absent for any reason, make sure to communicate the absence with our attendance secretary. To report an absence call 361-3405 or email memorialattenance@sdb.k12.wi.us.

The school will contact the parents / guardians of any student who arrives late to school without an excused reason. Students who are already in the building, but late for class will be addressed by their classroom teacher. Teachers will work collaboratively with parents when students are habitually late, and may also use the 4-step discipline process to address the behavior.
DRESS CODE
Students should dress appropriately at all times and refrain from wearing clothing that is distracting to the learning environment. Dressing in a manner which disrupts or may disrupt teaching or learning, or which poses a risk to security, health or safety is not permitted.
Please remember that all hats and hoods should not be worn at BMHS. The expectation is that students remove their headgear when asked to do so by a staff member.

VISITORS TO BMHS
MAIN OFFICE PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS & VISITORS
