From the RMS Library
All students should have returned their home set of textbooks. If they have not yet returned them, students can drop them off at the library before school.
Sixth and 7th grade students will be allowed to keep their chromebooks over summer. Eighth grade students will return their chromebooks and chargers on Friday, June 3. Chromebook returns are scheduled with all 8th grade math teachers.
Students in current grades 6 or 7 can purchase insurance for their chromebook. Insurance plans are good for one school year. The current plan ends on June 30, 2022. For more information about the Mobile Device Cost Protection Plan, click here (English) or here (Spanish). To purchase a plan for the summer and the next school year, students or parents can visit the RMS Webstore. The plan will protect the device against ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, THEFT, FIRE, FLOOD, NATURAL DISASTERS, POWER SURGE and VANDALISM. This plan will provide full replacement cost coverage and will protect the item on and off school grounds. It does not cover power cords (a.k.a. chargers).

YEARBOOK
Thank you for purchasing our 2021-22 Yearbook “Starting From Scratch.” Your support is the sole reason our yearbook program has been successful for the last 34 years! We thank you for understanding that this yearbook is 100% student-produced and that our yearbook staff has been working diligently to capture the many amazing memories here at Roosevelt. With this in mind, we ask that you please forgive any errors found in this book, as they are unintentional. It was particularly difficult to identify students this year since many students wore masks. Thank you once again for your support, and we hope that you enjoy the memories!
Thank you,
RMS Yearbook Staff

CONGRATULATION TO THE PIZZA PARTY WINNERS!
On-Time to Class Competition
This week we celebrated students who continually get to class on time with a pizza party. This year's winners are:
- 6th grade: Mrs. Graf's Class
- 7th grade: Mrs. Guzman's Class
- 8th grade: Ms. Marshall's Class.
- Overall best attendance: Ms. Ramirez's Class
Thank you, school counselors, for all the support with the pizza party and for your time and enthusiasm. And a special thanks to Ms. Kimberly Ashkiani, our incredible PTA Mom. Dear Wildcat Families, This is a friendly reminder that student cell phones must be turned off and put in their backpacks during school hours. Families, we ask for your support in reminding your students of this school policy. Thank you.

Health and Safety Update
As a school community, we need your help to ensure that we can safely keep students in school and minimize the number of quarantines we might need. If there is a family that is waiting on the results of COVID tests, please keep your student home until the results come in. If your student is not feeling well, please don't send them to school.
Please refer to the VUSD COVID-19 Case Dashboard for updated information on COVID cases. The Dashboard is updated by 7:00 pm daily.
A few other reminders about protocols:
Notify us immediately if your child or any member of your household becomes ill with COVID-19.
Please keep your child home from school if they have ANY of the symptoms listed on the decision tree guidelines (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea).
Have your child vaccinated. Remember, your child will not need to be quarantined if they come in close contact at school if they are fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. The vaccination will keep them in school and able to participate in all of the extracurricular activities like athletics, band, dance, ASB, etc.
If your child is quarantined, then they will receive support/connection with a VUSD Learning Support Teacher, via Zoom and email.
If your child is quarantined, they are to follow along in Canvas for their coursework.
If your child is fully vaccinated, they are NOT required to Quarantine at this time.
