The Friday FINALE!

May 19, 2023

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team for winning CIF-SS!!! Santiago vs Aliso Niguel 11-3

Big picture
On Saturday night, the Sharks took on the defending CIF 2022 champs Aliso Niguel. The Sharks previously lost to the team 7-8 during regular season. Key adjustments made by the coaching staff, David Janoski and Jim (aka Jimbo) Brower, set the stage for our victory. Defense, led by Cayden Penna (Senior), Matt Pronio (Senior), Zaiven Smith (Junior) and Logan Marks (Junior), held the Wolverines to only 3 goals! Goalie, Tommy Mazzetti (Junior) had an incredible 15 saves for the night! The offense was also no match for Aliso. Cody Warchuck (Senior) scored 4 goals, Carlos Barrientos (Junior) had a hat trick with 3 goals, Brendan Gargalis (Senior) had 2, and one each for Brendon Brower (Senior) and Nathen Le (Junior). Shout out to Jordan Janoski (Senior) with 3 assists! The boys worked hard for this achievement and like their uniform says, it was earned and not given. Thank you to our amazing coaches, family and fans for your support! Go Sharks!

Congratulations to all the awesome teachers of World Language and English, and their students who received the Seal of Biliteracy!!!! There were 100+ recipients this year.
