A Message from Donna
My winter wish
For the next few weeks I hope you can take some time to find light and joy in your own sphere. Whether you plan to celebrate alone. in your pod, or just simply take a break this season my wish is that you take some time to celebrate you and find that light!
We will be back. The arts and artists are a resilient lot. In the meantime thank you for being you and for caring so deeply for our students. Time for some self care now.
Happy Holidays
Donna
Thank you for your support
We also collected almost $3500 toward our $5000 goal to support #broadwaycares.org. We are $73 away from $3500 and $1573 away from our goal for the year of $5000. If you saw the show (or have seen any of our shows) and want to help this organization support the Broadway theatre community during this devastating time for theatre please consider making a donation. No amount is too small and we would LOVE to hit our goal before the end of 2020. Thanks for your consideration!
FHSDC- Books Alive Project for Elementary Art Classes
Final Book Release
The Radiant Child
This week we release The Radiant Child. This has been a wonderful collaboration and a celebration of high school and elementary creativity. I hope you have found a way to incorporate these into your lessons and it would mean so much if I could share some of your success stories with the kids who created these films.
The Radiant Child is a culturally diverse book reflected in this short film directed by FHS senior Hannah Bossange. It is the story of,Jean- Michel Basquiat who became .notorious for his graffiti art.
So now that you have access to them all please remember to invite me when you use them and I will do my best to bring in a few guest artists. Thanks to Andrea Baer for sharing her schedule of these books in her classroom.
Thank you for supporting all our kids! This could become an annual project so think about book selections for next fall!
And this will happen!!!
