Important News for You!
January 4, 2021
Hello Thomson Families,
It was so wonderful to welcome back our students back to school today and hope that you had a restful and healthy holiday break. I am so proud of how well our students did coming back to school. They walked in confidently and got right back to being DK and Kindergarten students.
If you have not yet completed our District survey and are interested in switching your online student to Face-to-Face instruction or moving your Face-to-Face student to online instruction when the second semester begins February 1, please take a few minutes to do that now. The link is below. If you have more than one child, please complete a survey for each child you wish to change his/her status.

Winter has arrived and our students enjoy getting outdoors, especially when it snows! All students are expected to go outside for recess, unless they have a written doctor's excuse. The fresh air, exercise, and social interaction are essential to our children's overall health and well-being. Please send students to school with winter gear, including snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves. If your family needs any support with any of these items please contact our counselor, Mrs. Ganabathi, or myself. I've included our contact information below.
As always, I want to thank you for your continued support this year. While there may have been and be bumps in the road, I am so proud of our kids, staff, and families for overcoming any challenge laid before them. We have had a great year and I believe 2021 will be even better. Keep it up!
Sincerely,
Natalie Miller, Proud Thomson Principal

Make Sure Your Kids Have Their Winter Gear!
If you have extra mittens/gloves at home that you would like to donate, we will gladly take any donations of these items.
Holiday Fun!
Reading Tips with Mrs. Campbell
Now that the weather is getting chilly it's a perfect time to snuggle and enjoy a book with your child! Before reading, look through the pictures and talk about what you think the story will be about. While reading, stop occasionally to explain certain words that your child may not know or discuss what is happening in the story. After you have finished reading the story ask your child about their favorite part, favorite character, where the story took place, what was the problem in the story, etc. There is no better way to learn new vocabulary and information then with reading!
Happy Reading!
Mrs. Campbell
Positivity Project-P2
As you know, Thomson is a partner school, which means all of our families get free access to awesome resources that reinforce the character traits and teaching we are doing at school. There is a character card that explains the character trait, a grade-appropriate video to show the character trait in action and some questions that are great conversation starters at home.
Click here to check out P2 for Families (password: P2).
This week students will begin learning about Optimism.
