KIA ORA WHANAU, FROM MR O
We all wish Mrs J-Low a very happy retirement and we know we will catch up with Mrs J-Low often! Thanks Chris for EVERYTHING you have done for the school, the staff, the students and the community over your 24 years at VS!
What an awesome cross country event we had on Wednesday! A big thanks to the wonderful parent/whanau support - I think we had the most parent involvement ever! Tu Meke whanau! It was great to see the resilience and the positive attitude from all our Vogeltown runners, this is what cross country running teaches us.
See below for the results in each year group and the whanau points updated after the event.
We had a good turn out to the Learning Conference nights. These are very important at this time of the year as we feedback on results from term 1 till now. A copy of the 'progress report' will be sent home next week. A big thanks to everyone who could make it to these conferences. Those who could not attend, we will be giving you a call to make a time or a conference over the phone. Parents and whanau of students in Rm 4 and Rm 13, your conferences will be next term - we will let you know soon of dates and times.
Big thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraisers this week. The raffle books have continued to sell well and it looks like this will be a great fundraiser for the year. A big thanks to Mrs Agar who has organised and run the Book Fair over the last two nights - this has also been well supported by our community with over $4,500 in sales! Thanks heaps whanau.

WHANAU RESULTS

SECURITY CAMERAS AT VOGELTOWN
The cameras only come on after school time and turn off at 7.30am. In the weekends, they are on all the time.
It is sad that we have had to install these cameras, however we want to keep the school a safe place, a community space and a school we can take great pride in.
ENROLMENTS FOR 2020
We are beginning to start planning for class placements for 2020 and we need to know all of our enrolments, especially families in zone, before we can offer any 'out of zone' placements.
VOGELTOWN SCHOOL RULES!
Centre City have invited our school to be part of a competition they are running during August. The posters below outline how to support our school. We will take your receipts in for you if you drop them off to Mr G at the Senior School. Go Vogeltown!
There is a box for receipts on both the Junior and Senior side of the school.

Huatoki Street upgrade
The first draft was out 2 months ago and now we can share the new draft plans (see below). There will be a last consultation meeting with the council about the plans for all residents, parents and whanau of Vogeltown school on the 4th September at 6pm at the senior school.
Have a look at the changes - they look great and will make the street and the entrances to both school sites a lot safer and inviting!

COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
We are aware that some parents did not have enough time to fill in the surveys or get to them on these nights.
We are still after as much community voice as we can, especially around the school values - we received some great feedback about the values in Term 1 and we have now broken this down in to two areas - Curriculum delivery and Vogeltown student dispositions. These surveys will close at the end of the last week of this term.
Please click on one of the links below for a link to either a google form or a survey monkey to complete the survey and provide feedback:
