A Message From Our President:
Dr. David Harris
Greetings TABSE Family,
It is imperative that every one of us, each member of this family, strive to continue our great work and organizational mission, especially in this time of uncertainty. As educators, we have been once again called upon to be the stabilizing force in this world as we continue to face the unprecedented challenges of today.
We are much more than just educators. We are innovators, creators, and sustainers. Already many of our affiliates, members, and partners statewide have started creating community-friendly lessons and activities so that parents, students, and their families can continue the learning process. While there are plenty of resources available to assist during this time, very few genuinely grasp precisely what our children truly need to grow and develop.
As we navigate these new challenges, I am calling on you to share your talents and your resources as we begin the development of our own education platform, the TABSE EdHub. It will be a one-stop site loaded with all the content and resources that will meet the needs of our children. From academics to social, emotional learning, we will continue to share effective and research-based pedagogy and content that provides a positive impact for the communities in which we serve.
I know I do not have to impress upon you the importance of why our scholars cannot afford to waste any time in educational development. Please join me as we continue to create equity in education for all students.
Please submit your content here: TABSE EdHub Submission Form

TABSE's Response to COVID-19
On March 27th, 2020, in response to school closings in Texas due to the COVID- 19 Pandemic, the Teacher Commission, in conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Commission and support from the TABSE's Technology Committee, launched the TABSE EdHub. This initiative is a multi-phase platform that will provide instructional resources and learning materials for students, families, and educators across the state of Texas as they navigate virtual learning and homeschooling.
The TABSE EdHub is housed on the TABSE Website and includes instructional websites, instructional videos from Texas teachers, and workstations for students to utilize while they are learning from home. In addition to materials provided by vendors and experts in the teaching profession. EdHub also includes the Learning at Home webpages for all districts affiliated with the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators.
The Teacher Commission is still accepting and vetting materials for EdHub and looks forward to providing materials for students in grades 6th-12th grade. A huge, "Thank You," is extended to everyone who played a role in ensuring the TABSE EdHub came to fruition and we look forward to its continued development.

Thank you TABSE member Aicha Davis and your team for your perseverance and work on the African American studies course. #ADreamComeTrue
Unity through Prayer
Salutations TABSE Family,
I am working to unite the Affiliates across the state, using a spiritual connection of prayer. Equitable Education for all may appear to be under attack, but one thing individuals can do regardless of where they are is pray. Prayer support is a great way to lift the TABSE community. So coming real soon to an Affiliate near you...prayer days.
Psalms 121:1 KJV
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Education is forever changing as we know, but today we are in unprecedented times. Ron Clark said it best, "I think am more exhausted working from home because I draw energy from being around my students and collegues. Zooming everyday is a good substitute, but the spirit of spontaneous energy in the physical school environment is something I love." With that being said TABSE, we draw strength from you and your members. Please don't stop the work, our stdents need us like never before.
Stay healthy and safe, our future depends on it!
All my love,
Yumesha Mosley M. Ed.
